American University of Barbados, School of Medicine, (AUB) is committed to making quality medical education affordable for every student. Scholarships, Student loans and Payment Plan options are available for students to assist them in meeting their educational expenses. Student Loan Program available to current, new and transfer students.


Financial Aid to Canadian Students

American University of Barbados accepts student loans issued through the Canadian government.
We encourage Canadian applicants to apply for loans through their Provincial Governments. More information about the same can be found below.

(i) Applicants living in British Columbia can submit an application with StudentAidBC. Our Institution Code is ZUDD

(ii) For applicants living in Ontario, the following application needs to be jointly filled by the institution and the student. The loan is subject to approval by the Provincial Government of Ontario. To download the application please go to the following link:

Applicants to AUB are eligible for an OSAP loan should they meet all of the requirements. Our code is ZUDD.

In addition, Student’s Loans for Canadians are also available from the following financial institutions (approval of loan is subject to eligibility norms and discretion of the bank/financial institution).

  • Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)

(iii) Applicants living in Alberta may apply for student aid through the official website. Visit the website to learn more about loans, eligibility, types of funding and information regarding the application process.

(iv) Canadian Applicants living in Manitoba are eligible to apply for a provincial government student loan. Learn more about loans, eligibility, forms of funding, and the application procedure by visiting the website.

Financial Aid to Barbadian Students

Barbadian applicants may apply through the Student Revolving Loan Fund as the medical school accepts student loans issued through the Barbados government. In order to qualify for a loan under the programme, applicants must meet certain requirements specified under the Student Revolving Loan Fund Regulations.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Candidate must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Two valid Government Approved identifications as evidence of Barbados citizenship
  • Certified copies of most recent academic qualification(s)
  • Letter of acceptance or confirmation of enrolment from an accredited educational institution. Applications may also be submitted by persons who are awaiting official acceptance from an educational institution
  • Official Transcript, if already or previously enrolled in an institution.
  • Statement of the annual cost of the programme from the institution

Financial Aid to Indian Students

Students may approach any Indian Bank / Financial Institution for Education Loan (approval of loan is subject to eligibility norms and discretion of the bank/financial institution).
